Social programme (FULLY BOOKED)
Our social programme includes a guided canal boat tour through the historical City Centre of Amsterdam followed by dinner at Frenzi Restaurant, Zwanenburgwal 232, 1011 JH Amsterdam. The event will take place on Friday evening. More directions will be given at registration to those people who have registered for the social programme.
Venue & public transport
The conference will take place at the VU Griffioen Cultural Centre which is easy to reach by public transport. From Amsterdam City Centre or Amsterdam Zuid Station you can simply take tram 5 (direction Amstelveen Binnenhof) or metro 51 (direction Amstelveen Westwijk) (see map below). Get out at stop ‘Uilenstede’ (the 4th stop after Amsterdam Zuid) and follow conference directions. The venue is a 5-minute walk from there.
NB: the preconference workshops will take place at the VU Metropolitan Building, also Buitenveldertselaan 3, 1082 VA, Amsterdam, which is also easy to reach by public transport. If you were to take tram 5/metro 51 from Amsterdam Zuid, the stop would be Boelelaan/Vrije Universiteit (see map below). When you enter the building (it is next to the tram stop and METROPOLITAN is written on the building), there is a receptionist who can provide you with directions to room Z-009.
